Doctors Sue To Silence Patients

Getting less than stellar treatment from your doctor> You better think twice about sounding off in the forums about your lackluster physician…he may sue you. Most of us know we have the right to share our opinions but that doesn’t change the fact that if you are sued it costs money to defend yourself. And, as this article proves, this is becoming a growing trend.

William Boothe, an ophthalmologist in Texas, saw that one disgruntled former patient was posting his complaints on the Internet, he launched an aggressive response. He sued for libel and other claims, and earlier this year a state judge ordered the material removed from the Web.
