Lobby Group Hits BC Teachers With Class Action
While the BC Teachers' Federation waits a couple more days to find out if a judge will impose financial penalties against the union, a number of angry parents are joining a class-action lawsuitn launched by the Canadian Taxpayers' Federation.
Within 24 hours of the CTF posting a website, BC Director Sara McInrtyre said up to five hundred people have responded, claiming they've suffered financial hardship because of the strike.

"I believe it's people from all across the province,: McIntyre sayd. 'People on the Island here, parents on the Island, as well as parents on the Mainland and in the Interior. I know the Okanagan as well. I mean, it's a province-wide strike, so individuals and parents are going to be impacted across the province."
On Friday morning in Vancouver, BC Supreme Court Justice Brenda Brown will announce how much -- if anything -- the BCTF will be fined for violating the back-to-work orders. Link
